Family Digital Foundation — (Product Beta)

Family Digital (the Family Identity Space app by the Family Digital Foundation) lets you delete your account, a child's account, or your whole family's space at any time. You can do it in the app or by email; you don't need the app installed to ask.

1. In the app

   Open the menu, choose My Profile, thenDelete account. It brings you to this page (or opens a pre-addressed email to us) so you can send the request; we take it from there.

• Any member can ask us to delete their own account and the content they own; the family keeps going.

• The Family Administrator (the family's owner in the app) can ask us to delete a member's data or the whole family. Deleting the family removes every member's data with it.

• Children's accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian, who requests their deletion the same way, from their own account.

2. By email

Send a message to privacy@familydigital.org with the subject "Delete my account" from the email address on the account (for a child or a whole family, from the Family Administrator's address). We reply to that address to confirm the request comes from you, then delete. You can also ask us to delete only specific content instead of the whole account.

3. What is deleted

Your account information (name, email address, sign-in details and active sessions), your family membership and pending invitations, chats and messages, Keep items including photos and documents, decisions and votes, survey answers, and any sharing grants you set up. Deleting a whole family removes all of this for every member. Your sign-in stops working immediately.

4. What we keep, and for how long

• Encrypted database backups can hold deleted data for up to 7 days before they expire.

• Operational logs (IP address, device type, times of use) expire on a fixed schedule and are not tied back to a deleted account.

• Feedback and safety reports you sent us are kept as our record of the issue, but are unlinked from your family. Say so in your request if you want them deleted too and we will, unless the law requires us to keep them.

• Anything the law requires us to retain (for example a safety report made to the authorities).

5. Timing

We complete deletion within 30 days of confirming a request, usually within a few business days.

6. Children

Parents and guardians may at any time review the information we hold about their child, have it deleted, or withdraw consent for further collection, by writing to privacy@familydigital.org or through the Delete account row in the app. Withdrawing consent means the child can no longer use the app.
